Music is a huge part of the holiday season. Yes, often malls and radios ruin it by starting to play every Christmas song on repeat starting November 1st, but some of my core Christmas memories are formed around holiday music.
For example, as children, whenever my brother and I decorated the Christmas tree, it was always to the exact same Christmas CD (I know, CD!!) played on our parent’s HUGE boxy entertainment system. Bing Crosby will always bring me back to the same happy moment that occurred every year of setting up the Christmas tree and singing in funny voices with my brother.
Or “Up on the Housetop” will forever remind me when my daughter and SIL did a duet (piano and ukulele) in their pjs for the whole family on Christmas morning.
